If you have a driving test coming up you might be nervous about the thing and keen for any tips and advice. It is very stressful leading up to a driving test so the last thing anyone would want would be to fail this test and then have to take it again. But the truth is that failure in this test is very common – at least once. Hopefully though, if you follow the following advice you will pass your driving test first time.

- It is a good idea to make sure that you get to the test centre earlier than you allotted time. This will give you a chance to prepare yourself and it will mean that there is no chance that you are going to miss your test. What you don’t want is to start the driving test out of breath and feeling stressed because you have needed to rush.

- Many people look at the driving instructor as a person who wants to fail them but it is far better to think of this person as someone who is trying to pass you. The tester really is looking for reasons to award you with a driving licence. This type of attitude will help you perform better.

- Before you arrive at your practical driving test spend time visualising how you are going to perform. Using visualisation techniques can help to improve your performances; it is actually used by many of the top athletes when they are competing. You will have a better chance of driving correctly on the day of your test if you have visualised yourself doing this.

- If you want to be feeling alert and fresh on the day of your test then you will have to make sure that the night before the test, you get a good sleep.

- Do all you can to help yourself feel as relaxed as you can. Take a few deep breaths before the test to relax your body – don’t worry the instructor won’t mark you on this.
